About this event

This one-day session will provide an overview of how to take a technology out of the academic setting and into the wider world. Using examples from local technology start-ups, we will practice spotting opportunities for innovation and understanding gaps. We will look at how start-up businesses have developed their products and take part in idea-generating exercises. By the end of the day you should be equipped with methods to help you to spot entrepreneurial opportunities, or indeed create them yourself.

‘A Road Map to Becoming an Enterprising Early Career Researcher’ workshops

This session is the first in a series of three workshops for ECR staff at the University of Bath, designed to develop entrepreneurial skills and business acumen across a broad range of disciplines and build a cohort of future mentors across the University.

The workshops can be taken independently, or as part of a series, depending on your prior experience and interests. However, please note you will need to have taken at least one of the previous sessions to sign up to the third workshop in the series.

The workshops are funded by the UKRI-EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) at the University of Bath.
